Matt Ravenscroft
MBBS BSc FRCS (trauma & Orth) Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon
Matt Ravenscroft is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises entirely in Shoulder and Elbow disorders and Upper Limb trauma.
His areas of expertise are arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and elbow, upper limb joint replacement surgery and sports injuries to the upper limb. Matt is also experienced in shoulder ultrasound examinations which can help lead to a quicker diagnosis and treatment.
His NHS base is Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. He consults privately at the Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle and the Regency Hospital in Macclesfield.
Matt's expertise in shoulder surgery was attained from holding UK upper limb fellowship posts at the Wrightington Upper Limb Unit and the internationally renowned Reading Shoulder Unit under the supervision of Mr. Steve Copeland and Mr. Ofer Levy. He was then awarded the British Elbow and Shoulder Society North American Fellowship where he spent time in the Mayo clinic (Rochester Minnesota), the University of Washington in Seattle, and Boston mainly concentrating on upper limb sports injuries.
He is actively involved in research and teaching and is a faculty member on both national and international shoulder arthroscopy and joint replacement courses. He also runs a training course for orthopaedic surgeons in training along with Mr. Len Funk and Mr. Nick Phillips.
