Jon Borrill
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee and hip surgery. Jon is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a clinical practice exclusively devoted to knee and hip surgery.
He has an NHS base at South Manchester University Hospital Trust in Wythenshawe.
He treats all aspects of knee conditions including single and multiple ligament reconstruction, arthritic conditions, meniscal and chondral disorders. His special interest is arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery in which he has been fellowship trained.
In relation to knee replacement surgery, he specialises in unicompartmental knee replacements which are designed to replace only the damaged part of the joint in contrast to total knee replacements which replace the whole joint. He treats arthritic conditions of the hip and introduced hip resurfacing arthroplasty to his NHS base.
Jon is a keen teacher and in association with Len Funk, help develop the Orthoteers Website. He runs and teaches on the Orthoteers Clinical Examination courses, and is a qualified ATLS instructor (Trauma management).
He lectures on Knee Surgery courses nationally and has presented knee related research both nationally and internationally. He is a member of national and international knee societies.
He consults privately at the Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle.
